What is the 3 prominent characteristic of Mediocre employees?

So, a few months back, Kunal Shah founder of cred, had asked same question on Twitter.

To that many of his followers commented, based on their experience what they considered as characteristic of a Mediocre employee.

Out of curiosity, I studies around 150-200 comments and realized most of them were pointing to similar characteristics.

Let’s get to 3 characteristics which tops the chart,

characteristics#3 - Talk More; Do Less

These employees are full of Jargon and generally good when it comes to talking/presenting their idea. But when it comes to execution they fail miserably.

characteristics#2. - Not Having Problem Solving Attitude.

These employees run away from the problem, they are good when the whole process is set and define and all they just have to do is simply follow the process.

But, when it comes to actually deal with new problems they don’t perform very well.

characteristics#1 - Not taking Ownership

Out of all responses almost, 50-55% of responses were related to this characteristic. These employees never take full ownership of anything and always remain dependent on someone to guide or help. They need constant follow-ups and they don’t seem to passionate about the work they do.

So here is what you can do, just talk to your manager or colleague and ask them, if they think you have any of these characteristics, and if yes! Ask them what you can do to improve on that side and also, introspect from your end. And work on it.
